Not financial advice. JustChecking is a personal tracking tool, not a licensed financial advisor, bank, or financial institution. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using JustChecking, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the application. In-app consent is required on first launch and when terms are materially updated.

2. Description of Service

JustChecking is a personal bill-pay and financial tracking application. All financial data is stored locally on your device. Optional AI-powered financial insights are available to Premium subscribers. The app is available on Windows, Android, macOS, and iOS.

3. Not Financial Advice

JustChecking is NOT a financial advisor, bank, or financial institution. All AI recommendations are suggestions based on user-entered data only. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Always consult a qualified financial professional for important decisions. We do not guarantee the accuracy of calculations, projections, or AI suggestions.

4. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter.
You must secure your device and any PIN or biometric access.
You must not use the app for illegal financial activities.
You are responsible for your own financial decisions.

5. No Account Required

JustChecking does not require user account registration. No email address, phone number, or personal information is required. Authentication is device-local (PIN + biometric).

6. Subscription Terms

Free tier: Full bill tracking with advertisements (mobile only).
Ad-Free tier: $0.99/month or $7.99/year — removes advertisements.
Premium AI tier: $2.99/month or $24.99/year — AI assistant, document management, monthly budget review, ad-free included.
Token packs: $0.99 (200K tokens), $1.99 (500K tokens) — supplemental AI usage, tokens never expire.

Subscriptions auto-renew per platform store policies. Cancel anytime through your platform's subscription management. No refunds for partial periods per platform store policies.

7. Subscription Transfer

Subscriptions are per-platform (Microsoft Store, Google Play, App Store). Transfer codes allow activation on up to 2 devices per subscription. Transfer codes are valid for 48 hours and single-use. Cloud sync (future feature) will replace the transfer code system.

8. AI Service Terms

AI features require internet connectivity.
Premium subscribers receive 500,000 AI tokens per month.
Token usage is hidden until 80% consumed.
Monthly Budget Review auto-generated once per billing cycle and does not count against your token budget.
AI responses include a mandatory financial disclaimer.
AI service availability is not guaranteed.
We are not liable for decisions made based on AI suggestions.

9. Data Ownership

You own all data you enter into JustChecking. Your data is stored locally — we have no access to it. You may export, import, and delete your data at any time.

10. Data Export, Import & Snapshots

Export creates a ZIP file with your financial data and uploaded documents. Import accepts ZIP or JSON files. The snapshot system preserves previous data states. Import replaces active data (an optional snapshot backup is offered). We are not responsible for data loss during import or export.

11. Intellectual Property

JustChecking and all associated content, design, and code are property of Griffify Studios LLC. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the application. "JustChecking" and "Simplified Checking" are trademarks of Griffify Studios LLC.

12. Acceptable Use

Personal, non-commercial use only.
No automated access, scraping, or API abuse.
No commercial distribution of subscription transfer codes.
Age requirement: 13+ (or 16+ in the EU per local law).

13. Limitation of Liability

JustChecking is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for financial losses based on app usage or AI suggestions. Maximum liability is limited to the amount paid for subscription in the last 12 months. We are not responsible for data loss — local storage is your responsibility to back up.

14. Financial Disclaimer

JustChecking is a personal financial tracking and organization tool. It is not a licensed financial advisor, bank, financial institution, investment advisor, broker-dealer, or credit counseling service. All calculations, projections, and AI-generated suggestions are for informational and organizational purposes only. They do not constitute financial advice. You are solely responsible for all financial decisions you make.

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

Governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States. Disputes resolved in the courts of Virginia.

16. Dispute Resolution

Good-faith attempt to resolve disputes informally within 30 days. Unresolved disputes subject to binding arbitration. Class action waiver: disputes resolved individually, not as class actions.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Griffify Studios LLC against claims arising from your misuse of the application.

18. Termination

We may terminate your access for violations of these terms. You may stop using the app at any time. Deleting the app removes all local data permanently.

19. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms periodically. Material changes trigger an in-app consent re-prompt. Continued use after consent constitutes acceptance.

20. Apple-Specific Terms

Apple is not responsible for JustChecking. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Apple is a third-party beneficiary to these terms where applicable. (Standard App Store requirement.)
